Sodom (1)

One of the major city of the cities in the plains, situated on the southeastern border of the Land of Canaan. After Lot departed from Avraham and moved there, Avraham saved him when he was taken captive during the war of the four and five kings. Sodom and three other cities were destroyed during the time of Avraham because of the evil ways of their residents, though Lot was saved. Throughout Tanakh, Sodom is used as an example of evildoing and the destruction that God punishes those who lead that lifestyle.
