Giveon

A city of the Kohanim in the tribal territory of Binyamin. The Hivite people of Giveon convinced Yehoshua to make a covenant with them under false pretenses. Yoav battled Avner there. An altar stood there before the building of the Beit HaMikdash. It was resettled during the Return to Zion.
