Negev

The southern desert region of the Land of Israel where Avraham and Yitzhak lived. The king of Arad, located in the Negev, attacked Bnei Yisrael when they were approaching Eretz Yisrael. The southern border of the land ran through the Negev and the vastness of the Negev allowed smaller regions in the Negev to receive more specific names.
