Perat (Euphrates) River

One of the main rivers of Mesopotamia, Perat was one of the rivers that flowed from the main river of the Garden of Eden. Perat is often mentioned as the northern border of the Land of Israel and David made conquests in Aram till the Perat. During the reign of Yoshiyahu, Pharaoh Nekho went to confront the King of Babylonia at Perat. King Yoshiya went to meet him but was killed at Meggido.
